Transparency and sustainability are integral parts of our work at gabocom. To make the environmental impact of our products understandable and comparable, we calculate the PCF for our microducts.

The PCF represents the total greenhouse gas emissions generated along a product’s life cycle. The system boundary used here is cradle-to-gate, meaning emissions from raw material extraction up to the point at which the product leaves gabocom’s factory gates are included.

By determining the carbon footprint of our products, we are able to:

The PCF is determined using a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in accordance with ISO 14067. The calculation is performed using a specialized tool that has been verified by an external auditor.
The result is expressed in kilograms of CO₂ equivalent per meter of product.
For the PCF, we focus exclusively on the environmental impact category Global Warming Potential (GWP). All relevant greenhouse gases are converted into CO₂ equivalents using scientifically established conversion factors.
For these conversions, we apply the IPCC AR6 GWP100 standard, which defines the relative climate impact of different greenhouse gases compared to CO₂ and enables a consistent and comparable representation in CO₂ equivalents.
Upon customer request and with a contribution to the costs, EPDs can be created and provided for our microducts.
